One of the sizes you can buy measures about 17 by17 inches and you can get it in 1 2 inch thicknesses.
You will use the opening to flip your ironing pad right side out so that the fleece and decorative fabrics are sandwiching the insul bright and the magnets.

An ironing mat is a great addition to a sewing or craft space and is sometimes more convenient than an ironing board.
Ironing boards are good for clothing items etc but when it comes to ironing yards of fabric it s just really nice to have a wider space for ironing.

I m working on a bigger project that will involve a lot of ironing.
This is such a nice idea and i love the spotty fabric.
Not only do i need to make an ironing mat i have to give my washer and dryer a little pizzazz too.
Customizing the mat to meet your pressing or ironing needs will be a great benefit to you and make ironing easier on your body.

100 cotton fabric for ironing mat top and backing insulbright insulated batting or any other insulated batting 100 cotton batting optional cotton scraps to pad batting cotton binding cotton thread my finished mat size is 30 x20 so i started by cutting all of my fabrics to just over that size.
Before you sew your three pieces together make sure they are laid on top of one another in this order.
You can make it any size you want with the cotton fabric of your choice and the heat resistant fabric will protect your table top.
Sew the three pieces together on three sides make sure to leave an opening on one edge.
